taots.pngTAOTS is a brand new school in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, that is building an innovative curriculum from scratch, based on the Schoolwide Enrichment Model of education.  Starting with K-1, our focus during their first year will be to help their "digital natives" develop age-appropriate technology skills as they develop the ability to communicate using a variety of media.  We will start with their technology "cluster", and multimedia production "enrichment cycles", building  our way into school-wide integration of new media, archiving all of the resulting resources on their online learning network.

During TAOTS' first "enrichment cycle", we helped them develop a "Future Filmmakers" cluster that had first graders planning and shooting documentary footage of the other 9 enrichment groups on flip cameras.  The students learned the basics of framing and shooting video, and decided weather close-ups, mid-shots, or wide shots were most appropriate to capture all of the enrichment action for their audience.  The teachers edited it into an archival promotional documentary (below) that was played for the school community at their holiday assembly, and was published on their online learning network.

TAOTS is a wonderful school, Mrs. Josephine (The Principal) is doing a terrific job, as well as all the staff. To me this school is better than a private one, the explore the creative side of each kid, and really help them excel.
