PS 686, The Brooklyn School of Inquiry, K-1 Magnet School, Brooklyn, NY
In 2009, we began consulting with PS 686, The Brooklyn School of Inquiry (BSI), a gifted and talented magnet school, to build media literacy concepts and integrated technology practices into their brand new curriculum, starting with K-1. (Read about the development of BSI in the NY Times).
An exciting part of our work there has been to collaborate with 686 staff, and educators from the Brooklyn Historical Society to design a series of activities and productions involving student analysis, selection and creation of multimedia artifacts for a school historical archive.
We are also helping the staff develop effective uses of their eChalk Powered Online Learning Network for school administration, collaborating on and archiving teaching resources, and communicating with parents and the public Blip.tv Account (below)!
