Salzburg Academy Mosaic Project & Pitch Videos

TMS facilitated media productions with 75 students from 13 countries at the Salzburg Academy on Media and Global Change in July.

In 2015 Rhys returned for the 3rd time as faculty at the Salzburg Academy on Media and Global Change to collaborate with documentary filmmaker Sanjeev Chatterje, founder of Media for Change, to facilitate media action productions with 75 students from 13 countries.

The Salzburg Academy is a program of the Salzburg Global Seminar, hosted at the Schloss Leopoldskron since 1946. The 2015 Academy explored three key global issues of our time — rights, expression, and responsiveness — in collaboration with partner organizations the Red Cross/Red Crescent, the United Nations Development Programme, and Global Voices.

The Mosaic Project

Throughout 2 weeks Rhys and Sanjeev collected a mosaic of response videos intended to capture the atmosphere that participants immersed in at The Academy, sharing what they found meaningful during the experience.

Media Action Plan Pitch Videos

Additionally, they mentored 15 small groups of students in developing “pitch videos” that would draw attention and further reading of the Media Action Plans they developed for partner organizations.
