Using media literacy and social justice theater pedagogy, students document a peaceful protest at their school, ask each other what it means to be an activist, then use a variety of performance and media to reflect on and celebrate surviving the COVID-19 era.
Between Parkland & SantaFe shootings a high school Government class collaborated with themediaspot to create this piece on gun control in the USA. Students mashed up images, stats, music, video, interviews & original music & poems to share their POV in a town hall screening with city school safety officials.
Each 5th-grade student in Ms. Averill’s class at PS 32 in The Bronx wrote poems using a graphic organizer with prompts to answer the question, Why not Equality? TMS collaborated with the administration at Bronx Delta School on a series of videos, an updated logo, and a new website to spread the word about what the new administration in the Throgs Neck area of the Bronx has been developing.
